About

Hey, I’m David Chernay.

North Park, San Diego. 19 years in this neighborhood and counting. Jennifer and I moved here in 2007 after landing in San Diego the year we got married (June 2004). This city got us — we’re not leaving.

30+ years in tech. I’ve shipped products, managed programs, written books, automated newsletters, and rebuilt a WordPress server from scratch using an AI agent and a DigitalOcean console when SSH was refusing to cooperate. That last one was last week. Still counts.

The Family

Jennifer is the real professional in the household. She runs Wander Well Travel, a travel business she built from scratch. She plans the trips, I complain about the packing. We make it work.

Rocket (8) and Astro (4) are both white mini goldendoodles and are, objectively, the best dogs in North Park. Rocket is the wise elder. Astro is the chaos agent. They are both perfect.

Kendall is our daughter. San Diego native. She still owes me for the phone. (Hi Kendall.)
